Dilara Perver (CEO) and James Bourely (COO) from Humaniche took part in the DayOne Accelerator 2026 kickoff bootcamp in Basel, marking the start of a three-month program.

It was also a pleasure to meet the fellow founders from the 2026 DayOne cohort, exchange experiences, and discover the diverse technologies and approaches being developed across the group.

Over the course of the bootcamp, we had the opportunity to hear from key opinion leaders and experts across pharma, biotech, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. A major focus of the bootcamp was on how startups can successfully collaborate with pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Roche, Novartis or Johnson & Johnson), from understanding industry needs and decision-making processes to building meaningful partnerships. The program also offered a closer look at what the Basel life-science ecosystem has to offer. With its unique concentration of pharmaceutical companies, biotech startups, investors, research institutions, and innovation organizations, Basel provides a particularly strong environment for companies developing new healthcare technologies. As part of the kickoff, we visited the Novartis Campus in Basel, where we had the opportunity to meet and exchange with startups based on site and hear about their experiences building companies within the Basel ecosystem.

For Humaniche, the DayOne program represents an opportunity to better understand how to work with pharma partners and to further develop our strategy for bringing our human bone marrow models into pharmaceutical drug development. We are looking forward to the next three months and to continuing the journey with the DayOne community.
